About this place
Hidden on the 2nd floor of an apartment building with no signboard out front, Sushi Komurasaki offers an intimate experience centered entirely on a 7-seat counter facing the chef. The evening pivots around a comprehensive omakase course, bringing together 4 to 5 appetizers, 11 to 12 nigiri pieces, and a dessert in an uninterrupted progression.
A meal often opens with a comforting warm dish, such as chawanmushi custard fragrant with sakura shrimp, before transitioning smoothly through pristine seasonal sashimi and aged nigiri. From silver-skinned fish like aji (horse mackerel) and iwashi (sardine) sharpened to their best expression to cuts thoughtfully matured to draw out deep umami, the sushi arrives at an engaging pace.
The beverage selection includes seasonal sake pairings tailored to the dishes, highballs crafted with Ichiro's Malt, wine, and fruit liqueurs. The chef quietly shares the provenance and craft behind each preparation, letting guests savor each course without pretense.
Given the tight seating capacity, advance bookings are essential before making your way up the quiet alleyway stairs into this calm retreat.
